You can use any standard supported controller such as your computer keyboard, usb gamepads, or even a guitar controller.
The game currently supports using proper midi keyboards and drum kits, to use your midi instrument you will need a standard game controller to link it with, as not all instruments have a suitable set of inputs to properly navigate the game.
